Antique Porcelain Tea or Tobacco Caddy – 19th Century
Refined 19th-century porcelain tea or tobacco caddy, richly decorated with polychrome motifs.
Bird of Paradise Motif: The central panel depicts an exotic bird with vibrant plumage in green, yellow, and red, perched on a flowering branch. This decorative theme is characteristic of Famille Rose style porcelains and European productions such as Meissen or Doccia.
Geometric and Floral Borders: The scene is framed by double rows of leaf or herringbone motifs in shades of purple and green, with small red floral accents at the corners. The base features a lattice (“trellis”) decorative band in orange-pink tones.
Lid: The lid echoes the main decoration with a floral garland and a white finial, enhanced by delicate gilt lines.
