French Art Nouveau Inlaid Wood Box, Burl Veneer, Early 20th Century

French Art Nouveau (Liberty style) box in inlaid wood, early 1900s. It has a rectangular structure with a domed, shaped lid, embellished by a beautiful burl veneer with particularly decorative grain. At the centre of the lid, an elegant ornamental motif of leaves and stylized plant elements develops, made with woods of different tones, according to the typical decorative taste of the period. The front and sides echo the decoration of the lid with further inlaid floral motifs.
