Refined Sorrento coffee table in inlaid walnut – mid-19th century

A splendid Italian-made Sorrento coffee table, crafted from fine walnut and embellished with exquisite inlay work, executed with extraordinary mastery. The rectangular top, decorated with an elegant floral motif and a central scene depicting a knight on horseback, is an excellent example of 19th-century Sorrento-Neapolitan cabinetmaking. The turned and sculpted base features an elegant central trunk branching into four shaped legs, also finely inlaid.
