Elegant French secretaire dating from the first half of the 19th century, crafted in mahogany and feather mahogany in the Empire style. The piece features a slender architectural structure typical of French Empire furniture, with a projecting upper cornice and a façade centered by a large fall-front writing panel, enhanced by the magnificent flame-like grain of the mahogany.

The fall-front is secured by a lock with a gilt bronze escutcheon and opens to reveal a practical fitted writing compartment. The lower section features three spacious drawers, also showcasing the beautiful mahogany grain and fitted with original locks and escutcheons. An additional drawer is positioned in the upper section.

The façade is enriched with elegant gilt bronze mounts, including palmettes, vegetal motifs, and ornamental decorations, characteristic of the Empire decorative repertoire.
