Victorian Carriage Clock with Alarm, England, Late 19th Century

Victorian travel clock (carriage clock), late 1800s. The case has a distinctive domed, cylindrical shape, with architectural decorations on the sides consisting of columns and vertical fluting, while the top is crowned by a sturdy arched handle, a characteristic feature of travel clocks designed to be carried.

On the front there are two dials: the main dial, light in colour, with Roman numerals and black hands, is dedicated to displaying the time; below it there is a second small dial, probably connected to the alarm function, a frequent feature in travel clocks.
